With a trip coming up in July, travel wasn't the biggest issue for their mother: it was existing.
Although it's really hard and emotional to watch a parent decline in their old age, shunning them for it isn't fair either. The mom should still be allowed to be included in the family festivities, especially when the sister is clearly able and willing to take care of her during the event. The bride has clearly lost the plot, pushing away a parent simply because she can't handle seeing them in their current state.
Mom never betrayed her, but she was letting her illness drive a wedge between the memory of their relationship.

This news rocked the boat for everyone. Who would be shunned next?
Frankly, I'd like to say that the truth heals, but in this case, the truth hurt first. However, at least the whole family knows why their mom, aunt, or sister won't be coming to the wedding, and that all rides on the bride's shoulders.
